Preserving Wellow Together

We represent the many Wellow residents who oppose the proposed wind turbines, some as tall as 140 metres (459ft), in our beautiful valley.

We support the transition to clean energy, but in a way that maximises efficiency and minimises damage to our landscape of exceptional archaeological and cultural sensitivity.

Protecting the Setting of Stoney Littleton Long Barrow

Stoney Littleton Long Barrow is a Neolithic burial chamber close to Wellow, and a Scheduled Ancient Monument. It is around 5,500 years old, making it the 27th oldest extant building in the world. It is visited by thousands of people each year.

This image shows the proposed turbines at Baggridge, as viewed from the Long Barrow.
